There are calls for the legal starting age in the Irish Education system to be lowered.
Fine Gael Senator Tony Mulcahy says the current rule means pre-school aged children with special needs are missing out on supports as they are not incorporated into the system.
Senator Mulcahy's asking the Minister for Education to reduce the age to 3 to include youngsters who require special needs assistance in class.
