Buskers could be banned from Temple Bar but would be allowed to perform on Grafton Street.

Draft new by-laws on streets performers will come before the city council next week.

Complaints from the public and businesses about street performers have increased significantly in recent years.

Now according to the Irish Times, the city council has come up with new rules which would require buskers to pay to perform but for a limited time.

Under the proposals, Temple Bar and the GPO would be a busker free zone - performers would be allowed on Grafton street with a 1am curfew on saturdays and sundays.

Using knives, swords, saws axes and flames would also be banned.

Councillors will be asked to approve the draft by laws next week after which a public consolation will take place.
