The body of a homeless man has been found on Westmoreland Street.
The grim discovery was made at around 7.20 this morning by a passerby.
It's believed the man, who was in his 30s, passed away while a number of sleepouts were taking place around the city to raise awareness about homelessness.
Anthony Flynn from Inner City Helping Homeless says it's a disgrace that 150 people are sleeping rough every night on our city streets.
He also added that the body was left lying on the street for a number of hours, covered only by a blanket, and that people were taking pictures of this on their mobile phones.
A full investigation is now underway and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Pearse Street Garda Station, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line, or any Garda Station.
