The State Pathologist is due at the scene where the bodies of a man and a woman have been discovered in Co. Limerick.

Gardai are waiting on formal identification as to whether the bodies are those of a convicted con woman from Northern Ireland and her partner.

It's understood Gardai received a tip-off about the bodies of the man and woman, who they found around 3am this morning, in an upstairs bedroom at an isolated farmhouse in the townland of Boolaglas, between Rathkeale and Askeaton.

The bodies are said to have been at the scene for a period of time, while it's not yet known how they died.

Speculation in the locality suggests the deceased woman is Julia Holmes and her partner.

Ms. Holmes, from Co. Down, is wanted by the PSNI in the North in connection with a number of frauds totalling 18 thousand pounds.

The 63 year-old was also deported from the US 9 years ago in connection with a property scam.

The area around the farmhouse has been sealed off by Gardai and a forensic examination is due shortly.
