Nurses at Beaumont Hospital have agreed to put off industrial action planned for next week.
Bosses and the nurses union have reached a deal which will see more staff in the emergency department on both days and night.
The hospital will also try to address the problem of "bed blockers" and overcrowding.
INMO Industrial Relations Officer Lorraine Monaghan says it's a "positive outcome" but is warning management to uphold its side of the deal.
