A Ballymun man who threatened to kill his neighbours and burn down their home has been ordered to stay away from them for the next six months.

Jason White of Sandy Hill Gardens is awaiting sentencing after he admitted harassing the family over a three month period in 2012.

Between St. Patrick's Day 2012 and July 7 of the same year, the victim said she lived in a constant state of fear and intimidation.

On one occasion, a large group were drinking outside Mr. White's home at Doon Court in Ballymun and two bricks were thrown at her house.

She called Gardai and soon afterwards, he screamed "there's going to be killings tonight" from an upstairs window.

"I'll take you out," he shouted at her daughter. "Your Da's a dead man and I'll slice your brother's throat".

It didn't stop there -- one month later, he banged down their door and threatened to burn their house down.

The guards were called again and after they left, he approached their gate, pulled down his trousers, stuck his two fingers up and made a wrist slitting motion.

He was due to be sentenced today but the courts have put it back until next year to allow both him and the victim to find alternative accommodation.
