A Ballyfermot man has been sentenced to five years in prison for obstructing an investigation into his neighbour’s murder.

Christopher Jackson’s body was found hidden in a wardrobe three and a half years ago. The 53 year old was stabbed over 70 times in his flat in Prussia Street in September 2012. His body was found hidden in a wardrobe – it had been wrapped in a duvet and covered with bin bags.

42 year old Bernard Locke from Ramillies Road in Ballyfermot was sentenced to life in prison in 2014 after he pleaded guilty to his murder. Today his younger brother Anthony also from Ramillies Road has been sentenced for helping to clean up the crime scene and hiding the body.

The court heard Antony Locke was previously convicted of killing a man and his pregnant girlfriend when he set their flat on fire in 1995.

He’s been given five years for this latest offence which has been backdated to when he first went into custody in September 2012.
