Gardai in Cork are investigating after the remains of a baby were found at a house in the city.
The body of the newborn was found in a bin yesterday afternoon.
A post-mortem is due to be carried out later - which will determine the course of the investigation.
The Irish Examiner reports that the mum in her 20s went to a garda station yesterda, saying she'd given birth to the little girl a few days previously.
