Members of the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland are to vote on reform of the Junior Cert.

The central executive of the union has held a meeting today and has decided to put the latest proposals to a ballot of its 18,000 members.

It's after the TUI said yesterday that it would recommend its membership accept the reforms.

If follows a series of one day work stoppages at schools around the country in the last academic year.
