Aldi's pledged to increase staff wages up to a minimum of 11.50 euro an hour from next February.
That means an increase of 4.5% on the entry-level pay for Store Assistants and 10% for Stock Assistants and Caretakers, who will benefit most from the new rate.
Aldi has also announced plans to recruit and train more than 400 people as it expands next year - it will soon open its 122nd Irish branch.
Rival supermarket chain Lidl has already committed to salary increases in line with the National Living Wage.
