The Agriculture Minister says the Universal Social Charge is an "unfair tax" that needs to be abolished.
Simon Coveney says the emergency tax was brought in to deal with a massive hole in the country's finances caused by the previous government.
The Minister also accused Fianna Fáil of trying to re-write history and the decisions they made prior to 2011.
