Group Does Up Empty Building For Homeless Families

98FM News has learned that a group of housing activists has done up an empty building in the North Inner City and moved two homeless families into it.

An Spréach have marched from the GPO to the location of the house earlier today to unveil their unorthodox approach to dealing with the homeless crisis.

98FM’s Dublin Reporter Maria Shannon went to meet the people who’ve spent nearly two weeks making the vacant building livable.

The activists will have four bedrooms in total available for those in need of a temporary home.

Some of the rooms have running water, electric showers and electricity.

The activists held the march in the city in an attempt to call on the government to open up more vacant buildings.

The march started at 2pm outside the GPO and moved towards Boltont Street where the building is located.
