A viable improvised explosive device was made safe in Dublin last night.
Members of the Army Bomb Disposal were called after a suspect device was found in a residential area in Coolock.
The area was cordoned off and a number of nearby houses were evacuated.
The device was made safe at the scene by means of a controlled explosion.
Gardaí are investigating.
