The Social Media Awards, known as "The Sockies", took place last night at the RDS. It's the 5th year of the awards and as always was organized excellently by Mulley Communications. The awards were started to highlight the growing expertise in social media in Ireland and to show good examples of social media that others can replicate. For the first time the whole awards were sponsored by Maximum Media.
We are delighted to have won the award for Best Video (non broadcast) for our Best of Dublin Video.
(Videographer Matthieu Chardon)
We were finalists in 3 other categories this year; Use of Facebook by a Media Organisation, Best Business Twitter account – In-House Run and Best Experimental Format (Vine, Whatsapp, Snapchat).
Other winners on the night included Dublin Zoo who came away with two awards, one of which was the Grand Prix, AA Roadwatch who won Best Twitter Account and the website LovelyBeards.com won Best Use of Instagram.
