What's there to do on Stephen's Day in Dublin?

There's plenty going on around the capital today if you have the energy to roll of the couch and away from the box of chocolates and turkey sandwiches.

Leopardstown Racing Festival

Day one of the four day Christmas Festival gets underway this afternoon with the first of seven races kicking off at 12:15.

The Grade One is the highlight with Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup winning trainer Jessica Harrington saddles Jett in the race where he's opposing the favourites Death Duty and Footpad.

Funderland

Funderland is at the RDS until the 14th of January this year and is open all over the Christmas break.

If you haven't been there, you've been missing out!

Ice Staking

Has the makings of a great day out in either Blanchardstown or Dundrum but bring the knee pads if it's your first time.

The Sales

The queues on Grafton Street this morning were crazy with people lining the streets to get a great deal.

All the bargain hunters have picked up the good stuff, but the day is still young and the buses are running a Sunday service if you're looking for a way into town.

Movies

There's some quality movies on the tele today. Here are five of the best.

Back to the Future - 13:35 - RTÉ One

Paddington - 14:55 - Film4

The Little Mermaid - 16:20 - Channel 4

Jurassic World - 18:25 - RTÉ One

Kingsman: The Secret Service - 21:30 - RTÉ Two

*** If none of that tickles your fancy... there's a load of turkey on the kitchen counter that needs to be eaten.
