It's reported the government is planning to accept 3,000 Syrian refugees.

Senior Ministers are meeting this morning to discuss Ireland's response to the refugee crisis. According to the Irish Times, the first people could arrive in a matter of weeks.

Head of Concern - Damien McSorley - says the crisis needs more funding than what's coming from aid budgets:

Meanwhile, rail services between Denmark and Germany have been suspended after Danish police stopped hundreds of migrants who refused to leave their trains.

It's understood they wanted to travel on to Sweden, Norway or Finland - and didn't want to be registered in Denmark.

Under EU rules, people seeking asylum should do so in the first EU country they enter.
