2014 was arguably the year of two people in Dublin - Garth, and Panti.
Panti - a drag queen and self-proclaimed National F*****g Treasure - made international headlines after a controversial TV appearance.
She "legally upset" a small group of people during a talk about being gay in Ireland, which prompted a question about homophobia.
RTE ended up paying out €85,000 in taxpayers money to those "legally upset", which in turn upset thousands of people and sparked an international debate.
Panti retorted with what has been described as "the most eloquent Irish speech in almost 200 years" in a passionate Nobe Call at The Abbey Theatre.
Garth Brooks was the other talked-about person in Dublin in 2014.
The country singer dramatically cancelled five shows planned for Croke Park, after Dublin City Council told him he could only play three of them at the stadium.
