UCD is designating 170 toilets across its campus as gender neutral.
It's one of a number of steps being taken by the university to be more welcoming to gender fluid students and staff.
Changing cubicles at Belfield's sports centre will be converted to accommodate trans people.
The university will also allow students change their names on college documents without the need for gender recognition certs.
It's not the first third level institution to implement a gender neutral policy.
DCU and DIT have also re designated a number of toilet cubicles while Trinity is phasing out the term 'freshman' for its first and second year students.
