New 24-hour Dublin Bus routes start running this weekend

Dublin bus will launch their new 24-hour bus services this weekend.

The 'G-Spine' routes will replace existing services such as the 79, the 40 and 79A and start from Sunday.

The G1 will serve the Red Cow and Ballyfermot and travel into the city centre.

The G2 will start at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre before travelling by Ballyfermot into the city.

A new route 60 will also start on Sunday and connect the likes of the Red Cow, Clondalkin and Islandbridge to town.

It comes as part of the wider BusConnects project being rolled out across the country.

The G1 and G2 services will operate for 24 hours, with buses every five to ten minutes between 6am and 10pm.

Overnight, the new bus routes will run every hour between 12pm and 5am.

The 40 route has changed and starts from Charlestown Shopping Centre, making its way towards Leeson Street.
