Gardaí have launched an investigation after discovering the body of a male in an apartment in Drumcondra.
Investigators have preserved the apartment for a forensic and technical examination.
Gardaí say the body is of a man in his late 20s, and his remains are still at the scene.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the discovery.
At noon today Gardaí announced that the search for 28-year-old Sean McCarthy has been stood down.
He had been missing from the Poppintree area of Dublin since Tuesday.
