Former Love Island presenter, Dublin woman Laura Whitmore commented on Maya bagging the new gig, saying: "Yes girl!! So delighted for you! You’re gonna be fab xx".

Ekin Su told media outlet POPSUGAR, that she had been offered the gig first, but was too busy to take it, saying: “I did get offered. I would’ve loved to do it, but I can’t at the minute because of how busy I am. And I said I’m not ready for it.”

Ekin Su continued: "I want proper training. I’ve done presenting before, but not to the level of (former Love Island presenter) Laura".

Ekin Su commented on Maya Jama landing the new role as the Love Island host, saying: “She’s funny, intelligent, smart, beautiful. ITV have made a good choice with picking her, I think.”

BUT, an inside source has revealed to THE SUN that Ekin Su, was NOT the first person to be offered the gig saying: “It’s not true. Maya was the first choice for host".

According to The Sun, Maya Jama also liked a series of Tweets denying Ekin Su's claims..... UH OH! Throwing shade!
