One man is on a mission to review every garlic dip on offer in Dublin.

Speaking exclusively to 98FM.com, Fitzgerald said the account was born out of his love for the sauce.

"During lockdown, I was getting a lot of takeouts, and I was getting a lot of garlic dip with my takeouts," he explained.

"I told a friend that I'd consider going to a place based on whether it had good or bad garlic dip."

Inspired by the man behind Shit London Guinness, Fitzgerald set up the page - and the rest is history!

Fitzgerald had been operating under a cloak of anonymity up to now, with some of his closest friends not knowing his true identity.

Despite his honest approach to reviews, response to the page has been largely positive from garlic dip fans and restaurants alike.

"My DMs are flooded from people and restaurants looking for me to review their dips," he said.

"Abrakebabra and other places have started sending me out garlic dips to try. It's crazy! I was like, 'why would they even care what I think'?"

Some restaurants are even looking to him for guidance as to how they can improve their dip!

With a fridge chock full of dip, Fitzgerald has been experimenting when it comes to what can be dipped - from pizza crusts, to chips, to chicken strips!

"I'm trying to be healthy, but I obviously have to try all the takeaways," he laughed.

So, what's the best garlic dip he's had so far from Dublin's fair city? His answer might surprise you.

"I'm basing it on my own personal tastes obviously. Eddie Rocket's was voted the best in Ireland a few years ago, but I just think it's the most popular.

"The three things I base a rating on are texture, strength and the combination of flavours. Like, is it too garlicky or is it too mayo-y?

"I think the two best ones that I've had are C Aprile in Stillorgan - I couldn't put it down.

"I was also really surprised by Cinnamon in Monkstown. Theirs tasted so fresh!"

What's next for Garlic Dip Guide? According to Fitzgerald, it's still early days. However, he's not opposed to trying his hand at making his own dip!
