1,600 Jobs To Be Created By Intel In Kildare

1,600 new jobs are being created in Leixlip, Co Kildare.

It's part of a major expansion by Intel, which is developing a new microchip manufacturing facility.

The US multinational says the project will also create 5,000 construction jobs.

County Kildare Chamber CEO Allan Shine welcomed the Intel announcement of 1600 jobs for the region.

“The investment by Intel in Ireland is the largest private in the history of the state."

"They are a key stakeholder in the region and this jo announcement reinforces the message that Kildare is the location of choice for both existing and potential business enterprise."

"The Intel operation in Kildare has consistently played a central role within Intel’s global manufacturing network."

"Intel Ireland contributes €1.08 billion each year to the Irish economy and supports 6,669 full time equivalent jobs in the economy, with this job announcement the numbers grow and the local economy beneifts."
