221 families in the city were homeless in July.

97 families were found a home immediately and 116 exited emergency accommodation.

New Department of Housing homeless figures show nationwide, the number of people in emergency accommodation rose to 10,275 in July, up 103 on the previous month.

3,778 children were homeless, as well as 6,497 adults.

In Dublin, where the crisis is greatest, 467 families exited emergency accommodation into a home, in the first six months of the year.

For every two families in the city that presented to homelessness services, one was found a home immediately.

Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy says the Government is doing everything it can to get people out of homelessness.
