The Housing Minister survived a motion of confidence in the Dáil last night.

Darragh O'Brien comfortably won the vote with 86 supporters to 63 against with one abstention.

The Taoiseach put the motion forward after People Before Profit and Solidarity last week tabled a motion of no-confidence in Minister O'Brien.

Much of the opposition called for him to go, including Labour's Ged Nash:

"I don't want to be flippant or in any way dismissive given the seriousness of the crisis that we now face but quite frankly I have more faith and confidence in Santa Claus than I do in this government to fix the housing crisis."
