Dublin has placed near the top of the list for a worldwide survey, but not for the right reasons.

It's one of the slowest cities in the world to drive in, according to new research from navigation specialists TomTom.

On average - it takes the average person driving through Dublin 28 minutes and 30 seconds to travel 10 kilometres.

It puts Dublin third out of 389 cities, with only London and Bengaluru in India ahead of it on the list.

For comparison for those driving through London, it takes an average of 36 minutes and 20 seconds to travel 10 kilometres.

London was also found as the world's most second most expensive city to drive in - Hong Kong topped the list.

The research also uncovered that running costs for electric cars were cut in half if drivers used slow charging.
