Westmeath, Clare, Kilkenny and Longford had the highest incidence rate of Omicron over Christmas, with the rate four times higher than other counties.

According to figures contained in this HPSC report, the incidence rate in Westmeath was the highest in the country over Christmas, with 3,056 per 100,000 people.

This was followed by Clare at 1,974 and Kilkenny at 1,855 people per population
