No child of a celebrity can escape this question!

Domhnall Gleeson has weighed in on his thoughts around the "nepo baby" discourse.

The son of actor Brendan Gleeson says he while he cannot apologise for who is father is, he acknowledged that nepotism can be a factor in the success of some people in the industry

He was asked whether it was fair to say that the children of well known actors have an easier path into the business, or whether this undermined their own work, to which he replied: "I think both things can be true".

"Like, it would be ridiculous to not be aware of and acknowledge that the fact my father is an actor has had an effect on both how I see myself in the industry and the possibilities presented about whether it’s a possible path, for example."

"And just having met people and stuff like that, that does provide a different sort of access." he added.

He also made a point of how much being able to live at home and not have to worry about rent had an impact on helping him make it in the business.

"Me being able to stick the course because I didn’t have to pay rent all the time or go and work somewhere to the extent I wasn’t able to do auditions or tapes, for example … also had an impact."

In fairness he's great for acknowledging how the opportunities he's gotten!

But he also made a point of how there's plenty of children with famous parents who haven't managed to make it in the industry, so there is an element of putting the work in as well.

"I also know that I worked very hard, and I also know that there are plenty of children of very successful actors who want to go into acting and it has not worked out for them, so I think both things can be true."
