Coronavirus: 242 New Cases Confirmed In Ireland

242 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ireland today, with no new deaths reported.

It brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 74,468.

Of today's new cases, 76 were in Dublin, 27 in Donegal, 22 in Kilkenny, 16 in Galway, 14 in Louth and the remaining 87 cases were spread across 18 other counties.

Meanwhile, latest figures show 223 COVID-19 patients were being treated in Irish hospitals as of 2pm this afternoon.

Of those patients, 28 were being treated in intensive care units.

The national 14-day incidence rate of the virus has now fallen to 80.4 per 100,000, with the highest rate reported in Donegal (232 per 100,000).
