Ed Sheeran has cleared up rumours that he's quit Twitter. Earlier this week, it was reported the singer had left the social media platform after becoming sick of abusive comments from trolls.

Speaking to The Sun, the singer said he would go on Twitter and find "nothing but people saying mean things".

However, Ed has taken to Instagram to set the record straight. On the 4th of July, he uploaded a photo with the caption, "Loads of Hoo-har about me quitting stuff. I haven't quit anything, I'm just not reading anything, except Harry Potter."

Ed previously took a one year hiatus from social media ahead of the release of his most recent album '÷'.

Last week, Sheeran announced 7 Irish dates. He'll play two nights at Dublin's Phoenix Park on May 16th and 18th 2018.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 9am from www.ticketmaster.ie and all usual outlets Nationwide.

Ed and his team have a strict stance against anyone using secondary ticketing websites for profit. On this tour, any tickets that are resold will not be valid – this means no profit to touts and no one getting ripped off. On all the stadium dates you will be required to bring your tickets, booking confirmation and credit card, plus a valid form of ID or you will not be granted entry to the show.
