Approval Given For 115 Social And Affordable Homes In Clonburris

A council project for 115 social and affordable homes in a new Dublin suburb have been given the go ahead.

South Dublin county councillors have approved plans for the local authority to build 59 affordable purchase and 56 social homes in Clonburris.

The low-rise estate includes 27 houses, while the rest will be apartments across a number of blocks according to the Irish Times.

Located in southwest Dublin, the new town has been designated as a strategic development zone, with plans for up to 9,000 homes.

Meanwhile councillors in Fingal have approved plans to give priority to people who have spent five years in the area to buy affordable homes there.

Under government regulations local authorities can allow up to 30 per cent of the homes in schemes to go to locals.
