Obama says undocumented Irish are being denied opportunities

President Obama said thousands of Irish immigrants in the US are being 'denied' opportunities because of the strict US immigration laws.

He was speaking at the traditional Shamrock ceremony at the White House as part of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

There are 50,000 undocumented Irish living in the US.

Obama said they are denied the chance to contribute to society as they're not able to pay taxes through the tax system;
