26,000 cigarettes have been seized in Dublin and Cork.

On Friday 16,000 of them worth over €10,000, branded ‘L&B’, were found at Dublin Airport, in the baggage of two Polish nationals.

Separately on Friday 10,000 cigarettes valued at nearly €7,000 were discovered on board a cargo vessel at the Port of Cork.

The smuggled cigarettes were discovered on board a cargo vessel registered in Antigua and Barbuda and were branded ‘Winston’ and ‘ASSOS’.

Revenue says investigations are ongoing into the seizures.
