A pedestrian has been killed and two Gardai injured in a road crash in Co Galway.
It happened on the Galway to Limerick road near Ardrahan in the early hours of this morning.
The 66 year old man was killed when he was hit by a car at around 12.30pm last night. The car also hit a parked Garda car, injuring two officers.
The pedestrian died at the scene and the officers were taken to University Hospital Galway.
Their injuries are described as non-life threatening.
A man in his 40's who was driving the car was arrested at the scene, but has since been released.
The road is closed for a forensic examination and Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
