There's nothing like walking to work on a dull rainy morning in Dublin to make you want to book a holiday.

Ryanair has announced a flash sale with flights starting from €5 on 100,000 seats.

You can get flights from Dublin to a number of destinations including Brussels and Newcastle from €5 one way in April and May.

Meanwhile, there are flights up for grabs to the likes of Barcelona, Majorca, Paris, London, Cologne and Warsaw from just under €20 one way.

The sale ends at 6 o'clock this evening.

Ryanair is to shut down its website and app for 8 hours later today for a systems upgrade.

Users will be unable to check in online, print boarding passes and book flights from around 6:30pm this evening until 2:30am on Thursday.

Passengers are urged to check-in online before the update to avoid disruption.

Some users have been experiencing problems accessing the Ryanair website this morning.

The airline says they are looking into it and the issue should be resolved soon.
