Culture Night - Friday 

Culture Night 2018 gets underway from 4pm on Friday with venues and public spaces across the country set to open their doors to host a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture.

Dogs Unite Dublin, Phoenix Park - Sunday

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind will be holding a ‘pawsome’ dog walk in the Phoenix Park this Sunday for people and their furry friends. The sponsored 5km doggie walk aims to raise funds for the charity and will start at 11:30am on September 23 at the Papal Cross. The walk costs €10 to take part, or €20 for a family, with each dog receiving a special Dogs Unite cape. Fancy dress is most definitely encouraged, with spot prizes available on the day as well. People are encouraged to sign up in advance on www.guidedogs.ie/dogsunite, but you can also register from 11:30am on the day of the walk.

Brewtonic Beer Festival, Eatyard – Friday to Sunday

After the success the first ever Brewtonic Beer Fest last year, the festival is back again this weekend at The Bernard Shaw and Eatyard. Some of the beers on board, including Rascals, Kinnegar, Beavertown, Hopfully, 5 Lamps and Grand Cru Sours as well as some delicious Brewtonic brews. Events over the weekend include Tastings, Drink & Draw, Beer Bingo, Beer Pong Championships, Social Hops Project and much more.

Dublin VegFest, Griffith College – Saturday and Sunday

Dublin Vegfest is back with a two-day celebration of a vegan lifestyle. The festival is the country’s biggest vegan food event with a large outdoor area, Speakers area, Vegan Food Village and Chill Zone. Expect vegan cheeses, falafels, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, ice cream, chocolates, healthy salads, cakes and drinks. There’ll be cruelty free cosmetics and body care producers, as well as diet and nutrition talks by experts, demo’s, performances and lots more.

Great Dublin Bike Ride, Merrion Square – Sunday

The Great Dublin Bike Ride is a bike ride for all abilities novice to expert, with 70km or 105km routes. This event will be a flagship event in Ireland for the European Week of Sport. On the Sunday, up to 7,000 riders will set out from Merrion Square to take part in the Great Dublin Bike Ride. The event will offer a 70km route for those looking for a slightly less strenuous day in the saddle and a challenging 105km route for experienced riders. 

Wizard Bingo, The Sugar Club - Sunday 

Calling all Harry Potter fans, a wizard-themed comedy bingo night is taking place in Dublin this weekend. 

Wizard Bingo comes to The Sugar Club on Leeson Street on Sunday the 23rd of September. Hosted by Irish comedian Steve Bennett, the event will include magic, laughing and lots of prizes including tickets to the sold out Dublin Wizard Con in November.

The event is strictly over 18s and dressing up is encouraged. Tickets priced €15 are available here

If you're looking for something to do in the city next week, The Kraken® Black Spiced Rum is inviting Dubliners to step into the darkness of the Kraken underworld at Freaky Tiki.
