We're remembering Dermot Morgan today. The comedy legend passed away 18 years ago today aged 45.
A day after recording the last episode of Father Ted, He had a heart attack while hosting a dinner party at his home in London.
He was rushed to hospital but died soon afterwards.
Morgan made his TV debut on Kenny Live in the 1980s. He then released a comedy single Thank You Very Much, Mr Eastwood. It was Christmas number one in 1985.

Then came Scrap Saturday, where he and his comedy cronies including Pauline McLynn mocked the biggest news stories of the day.

But it was Father Ted that made Dermot a household name. In 1998 the show won the BAFTA for Best Comedy with Morgan winning Best Actor.
