The 2018 Simon Home Run is on this weekend. The annual 5 mile run, which takes place in the Phoenix Park on Saturday October 6th from 10.30am in aid of the Dublin Simon Community

Speaking at the launch, Leinster rugby player Ross Byrne called on the public to help tackle the current homeless crisis:

"Homelessness is something that is becoming more and more of a common sight on our streets and in our communities. It’s something that we shouldn’t grow accustomed to seeing in our every day lives. I’m proud to be an ambassador for the Dublin Simon Community and I’m calling on the public to take part in this year’s Simon Home Run in the Phoenix Park on the 6th October. By taking part in this event, you will be helping to tackle the current homeless crisis we’re faced with, and most importantly you’ll be helping to support the thousands of men, women and children who currently have no place to call home."

The Simon Home Run aims to get 3,000 involved on October 6th, and raise money to provide homes. Participants can run, jog or walk the five mile route around the beautiful surroundings of the Phoenix Park. There will be kids’ activities on the day with food and entertainment for all the family to enjoy. It’s an enjoyable morning out for an important cause.
