Kesha has released a powerful new single. The singer, who is currently trying to get out of her deal with producer Dr Luke's Kemosabe Records, appears on a reworked version of Zedd's 2015 track True Colours.

Kesha sings: "All my life, one page at a time I'll show you my true colours."

"No I won't apologise for the fire in my eyes / Let me show you my true colours, it ain't no rainbow."

Kesha has refrained from releasing any new music due to her legal bid to free herself of her Sony Music contract and her deal with Dr Luke.

Earlier this month, Kesha has lost her appeal against a decision that she must honour a contract with the producer, who she's accused of sexually assaulting her.

The Tik Tok singer claims she is a "slave" to Sony and that Dr Luke committed a hate crime against her.

He denies the allegations.

Sony says it's made it possible for Kesha to record music without Dr Luke being there, but that it can't terminate a contract between the singer and producer.

The two will come face-to-face in June for a deposition.

Fans had speculated that Kesha featuring on Zedd's new single was a loophole, so she wouldn't have to release new music through Kemosabe.

However, Zedd has confirmed that that wasn't the case, tweeting: "Just to clarify: We didn't use any loopholes. Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release."

Zedd and Kesha's new version of 'True Colours' will be released tomorrow, April 29th.

Kesha made a surprise appearance at Coachella two weeks ago during Zedd's set where she performed the song.
