Temperatures are set to hit 20 degrees in parts of the country today. According to Met Eireann, it'll be mostly dry today with sunshine breaking through.

This means parts of Ireland will be hotter than LA where temperatures of 18-19 degrees are forecast.

North Leinster will get the best of the good weather today, while Dublin will be "very mild or even warm with highest temperatures of 17 to 19 or 20 degrees Celsius".

Tonight will be dry and calm with lows of 3-6 degrees across the country. There could be some mist and fog in the south and east.

Tomorrow will be dry with good sunny spells with highs of 13 to 18 degrees. The east will get the best of the weather, while there'll be some drizzle across west and northwest coasts.

Met Eireann says the next couple days will be very mild. Sunday will be fresher with "rather unsettled conditions into next week".

The forecaster says Saturday will be warm and humid with highs of "15 to 18 or 19 degrees". It'll become cloudier with widespread showers in the afternoon and evening and on Saturday night.

Enjoy the good weather while it lasts!
