Thirteen years on from his debut album 'Boy In Da Corner', MC DIZZEE RASCAL will be making his Forbidden Fruit debut. Since he burst on the scene, he has five studio albums under his belt and is famed for numerous chart topping singles including 'Bonkers', 'Dance Wiv Me', 'Fix Up, Look Sharp', and his recent collaboration with DJ Fresh & High Contrast on the old school track 'How Love Begins', (complete with its awesome Mr Motivator inspired video) He's a critically acclaimed artist, having won a BRIT Award, a BET Award, Mercury Prize, NME Award, Urban Music Award, to name a few.
We're pretty damn excited to reveal that Brit singer KATY B will be joining the bill on Friday night. She recently announced news of her third studio album 'Honey' (released on April 29), which reads like a who's who of collaborations, as she joins forces with Craig David, Major Lazer, Four Tet, Floating Points, Kaytranada and many more featuring throughout. With hit tracks such as 'Crying For No Reason' and 'Lights On', we can't wait to dance our dubstep socks off.
Scottish hip-hop trio YOUNG FATHERS will also be joining us on Friday. In 2014 they scooped the coveted Mercury Music Prize fighting off serious competition. Between 2011 and 2013 they released two EP's 'Tape One' and 'Tape Two' to critical acclaim, followed by two studio albums, 'DEAD' in 2014 and last year's 'Black Men Are White Men Two'. Their live shows have caused jaws to drop wherever they perform. Music website The Line of Best Fit said of the band, "London crowds can be the hardest to move, but within minutes this one is feral".
Luke and Olly are the Cardiff duo that come together to form BODHI. They began with a slew of edits with the likes of the The XX, Sampha and The Beach Boys, with releases on Ten Thousand Yen, Future Classic, Exploited, Rinse and more. The Bodhi name has begun to demand close attention. Along with the aforementioned releases there has also been ongoing mainstream support from Radio 1 who playlisted 'My City' a collaboration with Brit nominated George The Poet.
