The big day is finally here. First Dates Ireland starts tonight and early reviews are good. The Irish version of the hit Channel 4 reality show - filmed in the Gibson Hotel - matches up singletons and films their very awkward dates.
Mateo Saina, who was announced as the show's Maître d' back in February, says he’s “very excited to be playing Cupid.”
Saina, who’s originally from Croatia, worked in restaurants in Italy and Austria before coming to Dublin in 2004. He’s currently maître d' at Dylan McGrath's restaurant Taste.
Here's a little of what we can expect from First Dates Ireland, which airs on RTÉ 2 at 9.30pm.
