Chris Evans has spoken out about the way Jeremy Clarkson was fired.

The former presenter was let go after he had a bust up with Top Gear Producer Oisin Tymon, when he was told there was no hot food available.

Asked whether Clarkson deserved to be fired, Evans said: "What is more fascinating is that he went for what he went for, considering what had gone on before.' He stated: "If you look at the chronology of controversy of Top Gear over the last five or six years, it is bizarre that he went for losing his rag over his dinner when there had been international incidents before that."

Other incidents included angering a mob of Argentinians by using a car plate that made reference to the Falklands war and muttering the 'N' word under his breath when at a car manufacturing place in Mexico; which didn't got to air.

However, despite this the new Top Gear presenter claims Clarkson is still his hero
