Abba have recorded new music for the first time in 35 years. The legendary Swedish pop group announced the exciting news on Instagram.
The band says when they were back in the studio together it was "like time had stood still" and an "extremely joyous experience".
Abba, who have been working together on a virtual reality tour, recorded two new tracks and revealed one is called 'I Still Have Faith In You'. The song will feature in a TV special which is due to air in December.
The statement reads:
“The decision to go ahead with the exciting Abba avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!"
We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good", the group concluded.
Abba formed in in 1972. The group was made up of two couples: Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog; and Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
They found international fame after winning the Eurovision song contest in Brighton in 1974 with their song Waterloo.
The band are responsible for a number of iconic songs including Knowing Me, Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me, Dancing Queen, The Name of the Game, Super Trouper, Gimmie, Gimmie Gimmie (A Man After Midnight), Voulez Vous and The Winner Takes It All.
Abba split in 1983 following the divorce of both couples.
