West Ham "happy to take the risk" in pushing through Randolph transfer - David Moyes

West Ham manager David Moyes admits their signing of Darren Randolph was pushed through due to Lukasz Fabianski's hip injury.

The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper returned to the Hammers this week for a second spell, but his move from Middlesbrough was delayed due to a thigh injury.

"With Lukasz's injury it meant that we brought the signing forward, we were happy to take the risk and it's great to have him on board," Moyes said of his new 'keeper. "Darren is as fit as we can get him.

"He's been doing all the work he's had to do and hopefully he'll be ready for the weekend. At the moment we've got three goalkeepers to choose between and he's in that for the weekend."

Randolph is now expected to play against Everton this weekend while the Hammers boss is also delighted that Fabianski should be back in training in the next couple of weeks:

"It's really good news. I think he's been excellent last season and this season. It was great news to find out he might only be out for a few weeks."

Moyes is expecting a couple of more arrivals to the London Stadium this month:

"It's not always easy to get British players. I think there are a lot of good European players we could sign because they're already in the Premier League, but having people with Premier League experience who could come into the side and understand the speed of the game would be an advantage. I think still just trying to get the right ones in is important, though.
"I wouldn't say we're necessarily close but we're working on two or three things and if they're right we'll try to do it."
