Wes Hoolahan will help out during this public health crisis by returning to Tolka Park for a charity match in aid of Beaumont Hospital later this year.

Provided the match gets the go ahead in November, Hoolahan, a cult hero with the Reds and former Republic of Ireland international, will be part of a star studded line up to aid a great cause.

The game will feature a 'Shels XI' versus an 'All Star XI'.

Ex-Dublin footballer Alan Brogan, world champion boxer Kellie Harrington, former Chelsea star Damien Duff, Niall Quinn, Tony Sheridan, Keith Andrews, Jim Crawford, former Manchester United defender John O'Shea, ex-Derry GAA player Joe Brolly, Dave Rogers and Puskas Award nominee Stephanie Roche will all be on show.

Hoolahan played for Shelbourne in the early noughties and was a key figure in the UEFA Champions League run of 2004-5 when the Dublin club defeated Reykjavik and Hajduk Split before losing gallantly to Deportivo La Coruna.

He then went on to have a successful career in England with Blackpool and Norwich City before progressing into the Republic of Ireland set up, scoring against Sweden at Euro 2016.

Hoolahan has recently been playing with Newcastle Jets in the A-League in Australia.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 14th November with a 3pm kick off.
