After a cracker of an Easter bank holiday weekend, it seems the sunny weather has officially come to an end.

According to Met Eireann, today in Dublin will be mostly cloudy. There will be heavy, persistent showery rain this afternoon with a risk of thunder. Top temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees.

There will be more heavy showers overnight, possibly thundery. Lows of 7 or 8 degrees.

Tomorrow will be a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 14 degrees.

The forecaster says that the whole country will experience "rather unsettled weather" towards the weekend.

"Rather unsettled weather with spells of heavy rain and strong winds at times. Turning cooler with maximum temperatures closer to normal or slightly below normal", Met Eireann stated.
