Former Leinster and Ireland hooker Shane Byrne joined us on this morning’s ‘Now That’s What I Call Sport’ following Leinster’s 30 – 22 win over Munster at the Aviva stadium in the Pro 14 and looks ahead to their upcoming Champions Cup game versus Wasps at the RDS.

Byrne shared his thoughts on the game against Munster and Leinster’s great start to the Pro14 season as they've claimed five wins out of their opening six games.
“They (Leinster) were made work very hard for it.”
“One thing that’s coming out from Leinster’s performance is that their defence on a whole is very strong.”
“I think that’s probably what you need as a bedrock of a good season hopefully to come.”
Leinster boss Leo Cullen made eleven changes to the side to face Munster at the Aviva which highlights the strength in depth the Blues have at their disposal.
“The strength in depth that Leo has built throughout that squad is really amazing.”
“When you would look down on the team sheet as eleven changes and there’s very few weak points in it if any.”
“In fact, it would be guys who would be claiming a place in any team around.”
Following Leinster’s incredible season last year winning both the Pro14 and the Champions Cup makes them the team to beat this season. Shane explains how that label will change the matches they will face this upcoming term.
“Anybody playing Leinster know that if they manage to do it against them it will raise people’s eyebrows.”
“It’s just the simple fact is when things go wrong everybody else is going to be at their best against them.”
“They will be ready so that if at any point Leinster take their foot off the pedal, that’s the one thing they just can’t do this year.”
