This morning on 98FM's Big Breakfast with Cooper and Luke, we were talking about this little goat who caused a bit of chaos this week in country Clare.
A screaming goat on a small island off the west coast of Ireland, prompted a large scale rescue operation after being mistaken for someone in difficulty.
After residents in Co.Clare heard distressing noises coming from the uninhabited island, they called rescue services believing someone had been stranded and needed help.
Responding immediately to the call, the RNLI Lifeboat was launched, while the Search and Rescue Helicopter was also deployed. Local gardaí were called in too.
When the emergency services reached Hog Island, they soon realised the noises were most likely coming from a goat, who had been seperated from the herd.
Resources were stood down once it was confirmed that noone was in danger.
A Spokesmand for the RNLI said it's always better to alert the Coast Guard if someone believes there could be someone in trouble around water.
