This is one for the die-hard Harry Potter fans!

It's one of the most beloved and successful franchises of all time, so it's no surprise that rumours of a Harry Potter TV series adaptation have been swirling for years.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for news about whether or not the magical world of Hogwarts and its iconic characters would make the jump to the small screen. Well, it seems like their wish may finally be coming true.

According to recent reports, Warner Bros. is currently in the early stages of developing a Harry Potter TV series for its streaming service, HBO Max.

While details are still scarce, sources have suggested that the series will be a prequel of sorts, exploring new characters and storylines set in the wizarding world.

For fans who have been following the franchise since the beginning, the idea of a Harry Potter TV series may seem like a dream come true. The freedom of a TV series format creates possibilities for adding extra details that the original movie franchise omitted given the time constraints one movie per book.
OG fans of the books (ie. me, the person writing this article) have made their complaints about the crucial contents of a 500 page book being left out of a 2 and half hour movie (I'm over it, it's fine).

Others might be reluctant to watch the series that doesn't feature the original cast they know and love. There's no denying that those who are cast as Harry, Ron and Hermione will have some big shoes to fill. It'll be hard for us to picture anyone playing those roles except Danielle Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson!

Of course, it will be some time before we know anything concrete about the Harry Potter TV series.

Whether it’s a re-do of the original movie franchise in TV form or a completely new story set in the magical universe, the prospect of a Harry Potter TV series is sure to have fans excited for what's to come.
